Rosacea and Synchrorose explained...

Synchrorose - Calming Resilience for Reddening Skin, including Rosacea prone skin
Synchrorose system is specially formulated to reduce excessive blushing, flushing and reddening skin, including Rosacea prone skin.

ROSACEA EXPLAINED
Rosacea is a very common skin condition that in some form affects as many as one in ten women aged 30 to 55. The UK is thought to have the highest rate in the world, with up to 4 million people suffering from the condition due to our sensitive fair skin complexions. The long-term effects of rosacea can make peoples lives a misery and there are plenty of products out there on the market that claim to relieve symptoms but, in reality, relief is minimal.
However, help is now at hand for sufferers from a new product called Synchrorose that is specially formulated for excessive blushing, flushing, reddening skin, including rosacea-prone skin.
One of the main triggers of rosacea is UV radiation, which many of us don't think we are at risk of living in rainy Britain. However, 90 per cent of UV rays can penetrate through cloud cover and this little known fact means that we are one of the worst nations for protecting our skin on a daily basis from damaging UV rays. And if you are a sufferer of sensitive skin then this only goes to make the problem worse.
Rosacea is a long-term skin disorder that causes the facial skin tissue to redden, predominantly on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Inflammation of the underlying tissues, including the blood vessels, also occurs and in the early stages skin redness may appear as periodic blushing attacks. However, as the condition progresses sufferers may see angry, below the surface spots and surface water filled pustules can develop, as well as blood vessels becoming more pronounced which show as thread veins on the surface of the skin.
Rosacea tends to run in families and as a result many people mistakenly believe that their ruddy complexion is simply a family characteristic that they must learn to live with. The degree of reddening and the length of an episode tend to increase as our hormonal status alters in life. Although 40 per cent of rosacea sufferers are men, the main sufferers tend to be women who are approaching or going through the menopause, people with fair skin and adults aged 30-60.
In at least 10 per cent of cases rosacea can cause acne-like eruptions with pustules and lumps, and in one per cent, can cause eye problems such as redness, dryness, itching, burning, excess tears and the feeling of having sand in the eye. The eyelids may become inflamed and swollen and the eyes become sensitive to light.
Synchrorose helps sufferers by reducing reddening and swelling, increasing the skins resistance and decreasing its sensitivity to triggers. Synchrorose also helps to protect by nourishing the skin and improving the skin quality, resulting in more tolerant and calmer skin and making it more resistant to damage, such as thread veins, and encourages recovery.
Synchrorose is made using natural-based products and visibly reduces permanent and intermittent redness in just 10 to 14 days. Continued improvement is seen with continued use.
Peter Roberts, managing director of SkinMed who market Synchrorose , said: "Rosacea is a common skin condition that people need no longer suffer from. Whilst it is not life threatening, the disorder is debilitating as sufferers have to make changes to their lifestyle, for example, by avoiding going out in sunny weather, avoiding alcohol or by steering clear of strenuous exercise, all of which can cause flare-ups. Synchrorose is revolutionary as it uses a new combination of active ingredients that help to visibly reduce redness and provide relief at a rate that has not been available before."
As an added bonus, SkinMed are offering a money back guarantee for anyone who buys Synchrorose after pre-assessment carried out by one of SkinMed's qualified advisors.

SYNCHROROSE EXPLAINED
When Synchrorose is used twice daily it will begin to visibly reduce redness in 10 to 14 days with further improvements during continued use. Synchrorose effectively increases the skin's resistance by reducing the its sensitivity to 'triggers'. Thread veins have also been shown to diminish over time.
Preparation is key for absorption of the active ingredients, so Synchrorose gently cleans the skin, removing make-up and skin debris, then normalises and softens the skin while also calming and soothing reddened areas. The system deeply and intensely nourishes the skin while boosting hydration to encourage active uptake of key ingredients and, last but not least, provides environmental protection factors.

The four product system works in 8 out of 10 people to reduce flushing, blushing reddening skin through to rosacea prone skin including spider/thread veins. Designed and developed by pharmacists and dermatologists and clinically tested in Europe and North America.

Synchrorose® Q & A
Why are there five different items (Cleansing Milk, Tonic Lotion, FAST, Intensive Cream, Preventive Cream) for the one condition?
Just like some other products in the General Topics dermatology range (Akmicare®, Thiospot®) the products have been designed with different activities in mind. As you are aware, the skin is an organ and is made of specific layers (dermis and epidermis) - which have different absorption potentials to certain ingredients. The delivery systems in the various Synchrorose® items are not a 'one size fits all'. The sequential applications have been designed to complement one another - in synchronicity with each other - hence the name Synchrorose®.
How effective is Synchrorose®?
In the clinical trials from Europe and North America - Synchrorose FAST proved significantly effective in over 80% of patients in showing a reduction in redness in 14 days. In our own evaluation out of 75 Rosacea sufferers who assessed the original four product set, 83% said it had a beneficial effect and 72% said it had a significant benefit. Some people went a little redder on initial usage (slight reddening for 10 to 15 minutes after first few applications) but most then saw a significant improvement over the following weeks.
Although the base creams are hypoallergenic, some people with very sensitive skin may not take to the active plant based ingredients or MSM, and if their skin becomes sore and red then they should stop using immediately and phone the support line. Out of the remainder, it is unknown who would have seen an effect if they had persevered with the product after an initial mild increase in reddening in the first few days. People in trials have demonstrated considerable further benefit from continuous use. However - there is a higher chance of effect when the products are taken as outlined above - day and night.
The longer you use it the better it gets - Rosacea did not appear over night...
Isn't £69.95 for the set quite expensive?
In comparison to other products designed specifically for Rosacea symptoms and facial redness - not really. You are unlikely to have many (if any) other products for this condition for sale in your local clinic - sufferers often purchase on the internet and prices range from £20 to £200 - and remember - the Synchrorose® items are likely to last in excess of two months. When we trialled this product with over 100 Rosacea sufferers - 74% wanted to buy the product after they saw the results. Repeat purchasing happened 10 to 12 weeks post initial purchase. Cost did not seem to be an issue - if sufferers find something that works then this is not expensive. It is the old adage that if a product does not work - then it is by definition very expensive. This is a high quality, tailor-made, clinical product for this condition. The formulation technology ensures that:
there is a marked smoothness when applied
it is quickly absorbed
there is no oiliness
there is no sticky effect on the skin
How long has Synchrorose® been on the market?
Synchrorose® is an Italian product made by General Topics and has been on the market there for five years. Synchrorose FAST improved formula was introduced in March 2005. It is also available in other European countries where it is enjoying great success. Acne Care Ltd has sole distribution rights within the UK and it has only been available here since the beginning of 2003.
Where will people have heard about Synchrorose®?
The Acne Support Group publishes a magazine called "Face Forward" and there have been articles about the product in there. Also there have been a number of editorials in the lay press talking about the availability of The Skin Care Advisers in clinics and the accessibility of high quality products from these clinics for conditions such as Rosacea, acne and differential pigmentation.
Clinicians and Therapist Information
Enzyme mediated processes become over active as a result of a combination of some or all of the following; genetic predisposition, skin type (Celtic skin most prone), environmental stress, hormonal changes or trauma, lead to reddening skin with the generation of excessive free radical stress resulting in tissue damage.
This can result in the dilation and fusing of damaged capillaries, which lose part of their adjacent walls due to functional inadequacy. Also, this stress can result in the damage to and formation of irregular connective tissue (disruption of structure).
Synchrorose is designed to influence a number of underlying inflammatory skin processes, which lead to reddening tissue and vessel damage. Synchrorose also protects by nourishing the skin, improving skin quality and resulting in a more tolerant calmer protected skin. About 8 out of 10 people find their skin less red with a noticeable reduction in the appearance of thread veins becoming apparent over time.
If using a different cleansing system prior to Synchrorose, please ensure no residue from moisturising cleansers remains as this may act as a barrier to absorption. The important thing is to build up levels of the key ingredients in the skin, so remember 'a little bit in twice a day is better than a lot on'
